The 10 Worst Video Game Systems of All Time « Result #2 on Nov 7, 2009, 6:17pm »
The 10 Worst Video Game Systems of All Time You won't find many fanboys for these consoles, which unite terrible graphics with lousy games and underpowered hardware. Oh yeah -- and some were obscenely overpriced, too!
The 10 Worst Video Game Systems of All Time The 10 Worst Video Game Systems of All Time (Image courtesy of PC World) Truly Terrible Game Consoles Since the appearance of the first video game console -- the Magnavox Odyssey -- in 1972, dozens of companies have tried their hands at crafting successful and lucrative game platforms. Each new machine brought with it the promise of a compelling, novel gaming experience, but the vast majority failed -- some miserably -- to deliver. For every blockbuster like the NES, the Atari 2600 or the Sony PlayStation, there are a bunch of duds that never made it far in the marketplace. And for good reasons: Some of the consoles I've listed here were ridiculously overpriced, some were woefully underpowered, some worked only with a stable of pathetically bad games. And a special few possessed every one of those characteristics.
I don't want to be uncharitable, though. Even the worst console here had at least one redeeming quality (well, maybe not the RCA Studio II), so I've tried to point out the bright spots in their otherwise dark and melancholy history.
(Note: For this list, I've only considered video game "systems," which I define as platforms designed to play many different interchangeable games.)

The Uses of Solar Powered Lights « Result #9 on Oct 28, 2009, 11:46am »
First of all, understand that lighting devices which relies on solar power generally use a backup battery to operate. Solar cells are used to charge the battery during the day, and the battery powers the light during the night. The solar cells might be attached to the device itself, or might be located nearby.
Solar lighting is often used in remote locations, where conventional power sources are unavailable, and lights can not be connected to the power grid. They are also used for outdoor lighting, or as landscape lights around the home or garden.
Mechanism of Solar Powered Lights
There are four basic components of a solar powered light. Many solar lighting systems are sold with these components already integrated, but it is good to know what they are:
1. The solar cells 2. The lamp 3. A charge controller 4. The batteries
When purchasing solar lights, the majority of the cost involved will be for the solar cells. These are the most expensive parts of the device or system. Be sure your system is installed within some type of weatherproof housing, so that the solar cells and electrical connections will withstand the elements. Ensure that the electrical parts are protected from moisture at all times. For more information you can visit Indyalive.
Re: Madden maker hit with lawsuits « Result #15 on Oct 22, 2009, 9:55pm »
Supposedly, any NFL player that appears on the cover of Madden NFL games are cursed for the season they posed. For instance, Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers was on the cover for Madden NFL 2010. In the second game of the season, Polamalu was injured and had to sit out for the next 4 weeks.
Other supposed Madden Curse victims include cover athletes from the past few games, including Michael Vick (2004), Donovan McNabb (2006), Shaun Alexander (2007), Vince Young (2008) and Brett Favre (2009).
